She is a Winner!

To start off our weekend we attending the JWU First Annual Fearless event hosted by the JWU Larry Freidman International Center for Entrepreneurship. I got to purchase a shirt from a student owned business named True Monti &  I was also able to have my first Segway experience. A Segway is the RAD 2 wheel thing that mall cops ride. The JWU student who owns the business looks forward to launching his business at Kennedy Plaza and plans on riding around town on a segway giving tours of Providence with about 5 other people all on segways. Thats pretty RAD if you ask me! Keep a look out for PROVIDENCE SEGWAY TOURS.
This weekend we had the privilege to launch our 2013 Spring - Summer @ The RISD student art sale. We had an amazing turnout and the community definitely embraced RADISH considering we sold out in about 4 hours. If you think thats RAD we were lucky enough to have Val @ PDV Pops post up beside us and our customers  purchased a meal at RADISH then grab a puddling pop for desert and hung out with us listening to music. We couldn’t of asked for better weather the sun was shining.
I am glad that I decided to walk around the Art Sale before it was over because I found a gem. I fell in love with a hand made pin. If you go to RISD you may know Nafis White & Garcia Sinclair they sold me a pin that I plan on wearing daily. Check out the pin above it showcases a man climbing a mountain. The reason I picked this one out of about 25 pins is simple. In life i have always been faced with some type of mountain to climb. Each and every obstacle has turned me into a creative problem solver. There is not 1 mountain I can’t climb and over come. I’m excited for my future and I wonder what the next challenge is! Thanks for the amazing pin ladies I will wear it proudly thats for sure.
Finally I was able to close the weekend off with a meeting hosted by FOOD TRUCKS IN @ Twin Oaks Resturant in Cranston RI! Food Trucks In is the only website you can find the real time location of food trucks across the nation. Eric and his partner are amazing men and they have been traveling the states visting just about ever food truck. We had dinner with just about ever food truck owner in Providence RI. The exciting part was everyone was friendly and willing to work together to assemble food truck events that the community will appreciate!  We all hope to one day park our trucks on the same street and have thousands of people come out to try our food! The City of Providence has been amazing to us food trucks & we appreciate all of their support!

Who Painted the RADISH TRUCK?

OTIS GRAY “SCULPTURE” 14 A.K.A. The Handy Man

Shout out to Mr. Gray for painting the truck and finishing it regardless of the  90 degree weather in the summer. This guy has an amazing work ethic and he should be honored. Not only did he paint the truck he cut all the metal and also rebuilt the floor of the truck with stainless steal. Otis installed the window and also hung up the hood and protected the truck when I was in Salt Lake City. Thanks Otis!

GABRIEL LOPES “ID” A.K.A Upper Echelon

Shout to Gab for have some balls to freestyle on the back of the truck with Montana. I have to admit the first time i met Gab was the day he painted the truck. I asked him is he sure he knew how to paint. He looked at me like i had ten head and said of course dude. HA-HA come to find out  not only could paint but he is a professional. He earned the nick name Upper Echelon after…..(sorry we cant tell you how he earned it lol :p)

Mr. Amadeous Wolfgang A.K.A. The Boss

Finally we have WolfGang. This guy is clutch. Gab needed some help and called Amadeous to help him out. Next thing you know they were painting the truck together listening to music. I was speechless I must admit these guys are good at what they do.  Amadeous is a cool dude and will always have the respect of RADISH.

You may have seen these three fellas around town. They are responsible for paint the RADISH FOOD TRUCK. They are amazing men and their talent speaks for itself.

If you see them around town then its your lucky day because they are one of a kind. They put their all into painting the truck and I’m proud to say that I have gotten some amazing feedback about our paint job.

P.S.

Meet Elise Mortensen she also helped paint the truck and peal of all the original stickers with a heat gun. Elise will always be apart of the RADISH family. Much Respect! She is Amazing!

Without these Artist RADISH wouldn’t be the same. Our story sets us apart from every other food truck hands down!

OBEY THE GIANT releases on April 15th!

Mark your calendars on April 15th, Director, Julian Marshall is launching an amazing new film entitled OBEY THE GIANT. “It is about the early life of Shepard Fairey and the origin of his OBEY GIANT street art campaign. The film takes place in Providence, RI in 1990 when Shepard was a student at Rhode Island School of Design.”

What does OBEY THE GIANT have to do with RADISH?

Well students who are associated with RADISH and on the team also help out with the creation of the film.

Julian was still based out of Providence when the RADISH project started last year. A few days ago I (Tim) had a chance to chat with Julian and he is super excited to continue with his success.

If you support his movement like we do, please take a second to ‘like’ Julian’s fan page to keep up to date with news about the release of the movie!

It’s amazing to see what can be done when students come together and work as a team! #TEAM WORK

GO JULIAN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

The Return Of RADISH / Season 2 / x13

So if you’re thinking like the rest of the community you must be wondering WHERE IS RADISH. Well we are a student owned and operated business and we tried our best to manage running the truck full time & staying on top of our grades. However this turned out to be extremely challenging and considering our education is our biggest investment we choose to focus on our grades.

The good news is the school year is almost over and we are getting ready to hit the streets again. Exciting!

We are going to be making our first appearance at the RISD STUDENT ART SALE. This is exciting for us because a number of RISD students are involved in our project.

We are hoping to see the Expose Team at the Art Sale they are RAD! If you havent heard about them follow them on twitter @RISDexpose

If your’re in the area feel free to come by and check out our NEW PRICES! :) After conducting a survey from a sample of students at JWU, BROWN, & RISD we found that our peers consider pricing to be a deciding factor when they are choosing  a place to eat. So we listened to everyone and we lowered our prices! :D

Also if you are not a student and you find out about this event dont miss it! This is going to be a great opportunity to check out how creative us students can get. Bring the family & your friends the street is going to be block off however there is lots of parking near by.

I have seen some of the artwork that is going to be on sale and trust me if you have the painting I seen in your house it is bound to start a conversation. All the artwork has been handcrafted by students and contains a story.

We have also heard that our friend ROSIE will be attending! It’s going to be a food truck play date ;) !

Spring time is finally here and this is an event you don’t want to miss!

Cheers

Shaq wore the Reebok Shaq Attaq during his rookie season with Orlando Magic back in 1993 they same time Reebok Shaq Attaq was introduced to the market breaking grounds with the exclusive Reeboka€™s Pump technology. The Shaq Attaq was the first from Reebok to use Graphlite, which is a lighter rubber that brings down the bulk, perfect for a sneaker.

From reveared designer Swizz Beatz comes Reebok Shaq Attaq’s first colorway to release is in the Orlando Magic style with shiny blue, hints of black and grey on a white base.
